Pollenary — Privacy Policy

The short version. Pollenary has no accounts and no logins. We never ask for your name, your email, or your phone number, and we have no way to work out who you are. We store your places (ZIP or postal codes), your alert settings, a notification token, and any symptoms you choose to log. None of it is linked to who you are.

What we store

Places	The ZIP or postal code of each place you save, to look up its pollen forecast. In a country without postal codes, a rough area about 5 km across instead. If you tap Use my location, your iPhone turns its position into that code on the device and discards it. Your exact position is never stored or sent.
Alert settings	Which allergens you want, at what level, how many days ahead, and your time zone, so the morning alert arrives at 9 AM where you are.
Notification token	An anonymous identifier Apple issues so we can deliver push notifications. It identifies a device, not a person.
Install identifier	A random ID generated on your device on first launch. It lets us apply fair-use limits and remember whether you subscribed. It is kept in your iCloud Keychain, so a new iPhone keeps your subscription and history. It is not linked to you, your Apple Account, or any other app.
Symptoms you log	The symptoms, severity and time you enter in the Symptoms tab, stored with your install identifier so the comparison with pollen survives a new phone. Only what you type in Pollenary is sent.
Places you viewed	Which saved place you looked at each day, so a symptom you log for a past day is compared with the pollen where you actually were.

Apple Health

Apple Health is optional. If you allow it, Pollenary saves the symptoms you log to Health, and reads allergy symptoms from Health to include them in the comparison on your iPhone. Data read from Health never leaves your device. It is never sent to our server or to anyone else, and it is never used for advertising. You can change these permissions at any time in the Health app; Pollenary's Settings shows what is allowed.

What we do not do

Third parties

To show you a forecast we send only a postal code or rough area, or the latitude and longitude it maps to to these services. We never send them anything about you.

Subscriptions

Pollenary Plus is billed by Apple. Payment is handled entirely by Apple and we never see your payment details. Our server checks the receipt Apple signs, and stores only whether this install has an active subscription and when it expires.

Children

Pollenary is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Deleting your data

Turn alerts off in Settings, or delete the app, and your notification token stops working; the record is removed automatically the first time a notification fails to deliver. To have everything erased immediately, email the address below and include nothing more than the request — since we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to look you up by, so ask from the app using the Support link and we will clear the associated record, including any symptoms you logged.
